Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)
Platelet Rich Fibrin is produced from your blood. It is a concentration of platelets, which circulate through your blood and are critical for blood clotting. Platelets and the liquid fibrin portion of the blood contain many factors that are essential for cell recruitment, multiplication, and specialization. This “liquid gold” as they call it has been used to stimulate collagen in tear troughs, lips, and nasolabial folds. Results seen in 3-6 treatments, with a maintenance every 6-8 months.

FAQs

PRF is the next-generation regenerative treatment using your body’s own healing abilities. We draw a small amount of your blood, spin it in a centrifuge without any additives or anticoagulants, and isolate a golden fibrin matrix rich in growth factors, white blood cells, stem cells, and platelets. Think of it as a natural, slow-releasing elixir that stimulates collagen, boosts circulation, and repairs tissue.
-
While PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) has been around for years, PRF is a more advanced version with stronger regenerative power and no chemical additives. The difference? PRF clots into a gel-like matrix after injection, creating a natural scaffold that releases growth factors slowly over 7–10 days, compared to PRP’s 1-day release. This leads to better healing, longer-lasting results, and more collagen and tissue regeneration.
-
PRF is ideal for areas where the skin is thin, delicate, or where you want natural collagen stimulation without synthetic fillers:
Under-eye hollows and dark circles
Thinning hair and receding hairlines
Fine lines and volume loss around the mouth
Acne scars and overall skin texture
Neck and décolleté rejuvenation
-
Most patients say PRF treatments are very tolerable. We use topical numbing cream before injections and ultra-fine needles and cannulas to minimize discomfort. Under-eye and scalp areas are sensitive, but most people describe it as a mild pinch or pressure, not pain.
-
PRF works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production, which takes time. Most patients start to see subtle improvements within 2–4 weeks, with continued improvements for up to 3 months after each session. For best results, we usually recommend a series of 3–4 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
-
Since PRF is 100% derived from your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction is nearly zero. Mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness can happen at the injection site and usually resolves within a few days.
-
To enhance your results and minimize bruising:
Hydrate well the day before and day of treatment
3 days prior eat a high protein, low refined sugar diet to yield rich PRF.
Avoid alcohol, ibuprofen, aspirin, and fish oil 48 hours before your session
Eat a light, healthy meal prior to your appointment
Discontinue blood-thinning supplements unless prescribed (check with your provider first)
If you are on anti-inflammatory medications, we may recommend you to stop these if possible to prevent efficacy of treatment.
-
PRF builds collagen and tissue naturally, so results are long-lasting but gradual. Most patients enjoy results for 6–12 months after a full treatment series, and many opt for maintenance sessions 1–2 times per year to keep up results and continue collagen production.
